Upon being hired at the University of Florida, one of the first questions Will Muschamp received was about the beach house he and FSU head coach Jimbo Fisher share. Muschamp assured that things would not be awkward and that he and Jimbo were good friends.
However, after going 6-5 in his first 11 games as head coach, Muschamp has changed his tune. When asked today about the beach house, he said he would burn it down if Florida loses on Saturday.
"We don't have any friendly wagers on the game. I haven't spoken to Jimbo at all this season. He and I are busy each week with our teams. But I'm saying this now--if we lose to FSU, I'm going to burn the house down. I'm not joking. I'm going to burn the fucker to the ground," said Muschamp.
It's been a frustrating season for Muschamp and his Gators. Florida struggled with FCS opponent Furman for three quarters before pulling away in the 4th last Saturday. The losses, poor play, and thin numbers across the depth chart have finally taken their toll on the Gators head coach.
"My blood pressure's been boiling. I need to release some stress either with a big win over a rival or setting something on fire. The warmth and flickering flames calm me."
Jimbo Fisher could not be reached for comment as he was still lying face down on the field at Doak Campbell Stadium.
I need you to do a Night Before the Swamp poem for this season. I loved last seasons.
