Florida 26 - Vanderbilt 21
Ben Hill Griffin Stadium
November 5, 2011
UF's Offense: Charlie Weis is obviously a fan of this blog. After reading what I wrote in this spot last week, Charlie said to himself, "Goddamn. TUG's right. I gotta run the ball if I'm going to be successful in this league." Then he went out there and gave the ball to Jeff Demps and Mike Gillislee. Not only that, but he did it out of the pistol formation, which is the ninth different offense he's run in nine games this season. Seriously, does anyone know what Weis' base offense looks like? Yeah, me neither. Although, he could run the Wing-T with Brantley next week and as long as they scored points and won, I wouldn't care.
UF's Defense: I did not enjoy the 2007 secondary showing up in the 2nd half. Not cool, guys. You were facing Jordan Rodgers, not his older brother, Aaron. Little brothers are inferior in every way. You should've been holding him down and spitting on him. Not letting him throw for 297 yards with ease. Aaron > Jordan. Peyton > Eli. Groucho > Karl.
Vandy's Offense: Ok, I'll admit it. Vandy is a much better team under James Franklin. There I said it. They kind of look like a competitive team out there. They're still kind of terrible, but they're getting better.
Vandy's Defense: Hut, hut, HUT! If you're a Vandy fan or player, I apologize for making you jump just now.
Players Of The Game: The referees. Good job, men! I see you each found the $100 I placed in your pants pocket before the game. Way to not call that obvious pass interference on Pop Saunders in the 4th quarter, which would have changed the game.
Quote Of The Game: "I want to kill people." -Dominique Easley. That's just what I heard.
Notes: Will Muschamp deliberately removed John Brantley from the game in the 4th quarter to create a juicy "will he or won't he start" storyline heading into next week...Chris Rainey was held out as a precautionary measure after mentioning the night before at Gator Growl that he had extremely hot urine. Tests came back negative after the game and he should be available next week...A.C. Leonard caught one pass for 12 yards and said afterward that that was enough to keep him from transferring...Yesterday's attendance wasn't quite Miami Hurricanes bad, but it wasn't exactly pretty...Up next: Florida travels to South Carolina at noon on Nick Jr.
